This glorious Victorian Sapphire and Diamond cluster is a really rare find, made in around 1870 with an oval shaped Sapphire to the centre secured with a claw setting. Surrounded by ten Old Mine Cut Diamonds in a cut down antique setting. The shoulders are beautifully hand carved with foliate and swirl designs with further engraving to the underside of the basket.
Made in 18ct Gold with a Silver setting to the Diamonds. Stamped 18ct to the band.
The central oval Sapphire is deep clue in colour with teal undertones, most likely Burmese in origin, has been calculated in the setting and is estimated to weigh 1.80 Carat. The outer Old Mine Cut Diamonds have been calculated in the setting and are estimated to weigh 0.15 Carat each. Totalling 1.50 Carat. The Diamonds are very clear and bright approximately at least SI1 Clarity and I Colour.
The setting measures 16mm x 13mm.
