This Victorian Sapphire and Diamond cluster ring is such beautiful and classic piece and was made in around 1900. The circular faceted Sapphire to the centre is cut in the Old European Cut style with a flat culet and features a claw setting, surrounded by a halo of twelve chunky Old Cut Diamonds to the outside each with claw settings. The shoulders of the ring feature a fluted design which taper to the 2mm band.
Made in 18ct Gold. Stamped to the band. There is also a faint inscription reading: 28.1.50. The ring is older than 1950s so the owner of the ring at the time was obviously a vintage lover too!
The central circular Sapphire has been calculated in the setting and is estimated to weigh 1.50 Carat. A lovely deep Royal blue colour with a few natural and typical inclusions. The outer Old Cut Diamonds have been calculated in the settings and are estimated to weigh 0.08 Carat each, totalling 0.96 Carat. Beautiful white and clean Diamonds, G-H Colour and SI1 Clarity.
The setting measures 13mm x 13mm.
A beautiful antique ring dating from the late Victorian era, a classic style that never dates in a hard to find circular shape which is different from the usual oval shaped cluster.
