The most breathtaking ring I have had the pleasure of offering for sale, a truly spectacular piece. Set with the most show-stopping natural oval Ceylon Sapphire of the most gorgeous cornflower blue. The Sapphire is set in a rich 18ct Yellow Gold smooth bezel setting which beautifully contrasts with the colour of the Sapphire. To the outside there is a row of fine quality Brilliant Cut Diamonds which are individually grain set with a smooth border. The gallery below has the most stunning scrolled details which were all painstakingly made by hand nearly 100 years ago.
Made in 18ct White Gold with a Yellow Gold Bezel setting to the Sapphire.
The ring bears the Eagle head stamp indicating that the ring is 18ct and originates in France. There is also a makers mark for JG with a french horn symbol between the initials. This is most likely a Parisian makers mark, as the style of mark is very similar to other Parisian makers of the time.
The central Sapphire is accompanied by a full G.C.S certificate stating that the Sapphire is natural with no indication of heat treatment and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin. The Sapphire has been weighed at 8.41 Carat and measures 15.19 x 11.12 x 4.99 mm. There are minimal natural inclusions within the stone.
Ceylon (Sri Lankan) Sapphires are known for their stunning colour and high level of clarity and radiance.
The Brilliant Cut Diamonds weigh approximately 0.30 Carat in total. VS Clarity and G-H Colour. A dainty border of high quality Diamonds which compliment the Sapphire wonderfully.
The setting measures 20mm x 15mm.
A rare and important piece of jewellery history which would make the most incredible engagement ring or even right hand ring. The low and smooth setting makes the statement size a wearable and enjoyable ring.
